Code 46
Starring Tim Robbins and Samantha Morton
The cover of this film mentioned that it was a worthy film of being mentioned with THX 1138 and Gattaca, which piqued my interest. After viewing I can only agree.
The movie had a masterful command of space and feeling. It was shot beautifully, the settings were very well conceived - a perfect amount of 'future' while being realistic that some things are probably not going to change a lot no matter how far forward we look - and a story that was compelling with acting that emphasised the tone of the genre.
This was all the things that "The Island" wasn't -- which is a very, very good thing.
8 out of 10.
