A Bronx Tale

A Bronx Tale was a touching and in many ways "cute" film about a father and his son, growing up, and what defines right and wrong.

Colagero is shown as a nine year old, and also as a seventeen year old, and the film documents his respect for his father, Loernzo (Robert De Niro) and his fascination with the fear and respect that local crime lord Sonny (Chazz Palminteri) commands from the neighbourhood.

Sonny is driven by Machiavellian instincts, while Lorenzo believes in earned respect and trustworthiness -- but they both agree on one thing - "There is nothing sadder than wasted talent".  With that in mind, it's sad to read that the kid (Lillo Brancato) was recently involved in a homicide while burgling a neighbour for drugs.
